Karen M. Stevenson, EA, MBA
After graduating with a bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska, Karen completed an MBA at American University in Washington, DC. She got her start as a financial analyst in Fairfax, Virginia.
In 2007 she passed the IRS’ three-part exam to become an Enrolled Agent, which means she has unlimited rights to represent clients in all tax matters before the IRS. EAs are the only tax professionals licensed by the US Department of Treasury.
She became an NTPI Fellow in 2021. NTPI Fellows have completed a stringent, three-level program of study that covers all facets of representing clients before the IRS. They have learned to guide their clients through the often challenging maze of IRS codes, internal regulations, and agency structure. These are individuals who exceed the IRS’ minimum standard for continuing education and are dedicated to staying on top of the latest changes to the tax code.
She is an adjunct instructor for the University of Illinois Tax School, which delivers continuing ed seminars to audiences of CPAs, Enrolled Agents and tax attorneys.
She has been preparing individual and small business tax returns as well as resolving IRS tax issues for clients for sixteen years, constantly striving for excellence, integrity and responsiveness to clients’ tax needs.
